Paradiski: the complete green package

Now 100% of its energy is renewable, it's even easier to keep carbon costs down by taking the train and staying in an eco-lodge. Here's how:

Green Energy: Paradiski will be one of the world's first ski areas to power its lifts by 100% renewable energy and is certified by the European label TUV-SUD www.tuev-sued.de. To reduce CO2 emissions, Paradiski's lift companies are also AlpEnergie 100 certified receiving all electricity through the power company. This renewable energy is also supplied to shops, hotels and restaurants in the ski area.

Green Transport: As well as getting to the ski area by plane - the nearest airport is 2.5 hours drive away in Chambery - you can get the train. Leave London St Pancras and head to either Bourg St Maurice or Aime la Plagne via Euro Star or TUV reducing your carbon spend from 98kg - from Gatwick - to 11kg per person (Source: Best Foot Forward 2010).

Green Bed: And, for the complete green package, head to one of these three ski lodges/igloos for an eco break. Both ski lodges have been certified as being eco friendly.
