The OIA Conference 2019

March 28, 2019 / Helen Hyde  /

The month of March was marked by the annual industry event that is the Outdoor Industry Association Conference and AGM; an important date in our calendars for retailers, distributors, manufacturers and activity providers.

Spring at the OIA Conference
Spring’s Stephanie spent two days at Shrigley Hall Hotel near Cheshire to listen to the talks, take part in the debates and meet industry folk from far and wide.

“The idea of spending two days out of the office when you’re so busy is daunting. In fact, I put off booking to go on the Conference for that very reason. However, the wealth of information I gained over the two days definitely made it worth it.”

The Conference is a chance to share industry knowledge and ideas but it kicks off with a choice of outdoor activities to get everyone in the groove. You could go mountain biking with Pertex, play golf or go running with Chris Lines of Right Lines PR who represent the OIA. But Stephanie chose a walk, sponsored by Ordnance Survey, and joined by the adventurer, Alan Hinkes (the first Briton to climb the world’s 14 highest mountains), giving her a chance to properly talk to those she hadn’t seen in a while.

Giving Back

March 20, 2019 / Helen Hyde  /
Spring PR is proud to work with clients who give back to their local communities and worthwhile charities. A 2010 study by Cone Marketing showed that 85 per cent of customers respond positively to companies that give to a charity they care about. And a 2015 study revealed that 62 percent of millennials would take a pay cut to work for a company that demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility. It’s not only good for the charity , but good for business too…watch the video to see what our clients have been up to…

Down – What’s the Fluff?

February 23, 2019 / Abbie Baynes  /

From fresh spring mornings to deep winter frosts, it’s a lovely time of year to get outside and experience nature. But first, we’ve all got to dig out our warmest winter jacket so we don’t freeze to death in the meantime. Down-filled jackets have become a top choice for those who spend their winters out and about in the not-so-forgiving British Winter.
