What a show!
Well, if the year wasn’t flying by fast enough already, it feels crazy to think OTS 2022 has now been and gone.
The Spring Team headed up to Liverpool to attend the show on Tuesday and Wednesday. We got to catch up with some of our wonderful clients and people we hadn’t seen in a while, as well as get to know new faces and businesses.
With so much to celebrate, showcase and talk about the show was a real success on all parts. Read on to hear some of the show highlights.
Stephanie Briggs, Spring PR:
“Wow, OTS 2022. You don’t realise how great it is until it’s not there anymore like in 2020. I welcomed the whole event with open arms and couldn’t pinpoint a highlight. I was so excited to get up to Liverpool to see faces I hadn’t seen for years and others whom I had just got to know over email. So, for me, the real highlight was getting down and chatty with all my favourite industry people.”
Chris King, head of sales at Ardblair Sports Importers Ltd (ASI), LEKI & AKU:
“For AKU and LEKI, ASI had the ideal balance of number and quality of meetings with retailers and media. After many years, it feels like the outdoor industry has found the right balance of limiting the choice of market format – shows, showrooms and shop visits – in order to make OTS the success it is.”

Jo Lowe, Spring PR:
“What a great show! It was so lovely to catch up with everyone face-to-face. There were lots of high points for me, namely Páramo’s Richard Pyne highlighting the brand’s long-standing relationship with Miquelina at the Sustainability Breakfast; AKU’s 100% vegan boots being shortlisted in the awards and Nikwax unveiling a new look. Not to mention a delicious meal at Rosa’s. Bring on OTS & Slide.”

Richard Pyne, Commercial Director, Páramo:
“Many thanks to all those involved in the organisation of this year’s event. It was fantastic to welcome everyone to our stand, great to meet new faces and re-connect with others. Thank you to all those who joined us in celebrating 30 years of Páramo by welcoming Craeciones Miquelina into our newly formed employee-owned group. Here’s to the next 30 years!”

Abbie Baynes, Spring PR:
“Another amazing show with great energy bouncing between team Spring, our brands, and the media. After a busy day, it’s always fun catching up in the evening; good company surrounded by delicious food and margaritas!”

Naomi Prictor, Spring PR:
“The main highlight for me from OTS 2022 was definitely getting to spend time with both clients and media face to face, it’s such a great way to meet new people and build relationships. I also thoroughly enjoyed our Mexican dinner at Madre, the Baja fish tacos were delicious!”
Bella Charlton, Spring PR:
“My first OTS show was absolutely fantastic working with the Dream Team that is Spring PR! My highlight was the unusual task of collecting mud from outside, which we used to demonstrate the capabilities of the new LifeStraw Personal Filter Straw.”

Matt, owner of Wildside Trading, Hydro Flask:
“‘OTS was very successful for Hydro Flask with back-to-back meetings all day on Tuesday and Wednesday and with four or five quality new unplanned opportunities too. The social side was fun, meeting with dealers and trade colleagues over dinners and drinks, sometimes too many of the latter.”
