Páramo
Páramo makes outdoor clothing, from jackets to pants, shirts to fleeces and is a much loved brand with outdoor enthusiasts from walkers to bird watchers.
Páramo is sister company to Nikwax and as a result is also based in the beautiful town of Wadhurst in East Sussex.
Over 80% of Páramo’s annual production occurs at the Miquelina Foundation based in Bogota, Colombia. The partnership with the Foundation began in 1992 and gives valuable opportunities for vulnerable people. It offers women at risk of prostitution and drugs training and employment, homes and childcare. This is a truly beautiful story and since the partnership Páramo and the Miquelina Foundation have gone from strength to strength.
In 1997 and 2002 the foundation obtained ISO 9001 accreditation for quality and in 2017, after 25 years of partnership, Miquelina attained guaranteed Fair Trade status from the World Fair Trade Organisation.
