Walk on the wild side this National Walking Month

Happy National Walking Month! It goes without saying that we Springers love spending time in the great outdoors. To celebrate, we wanted to share with you our favourite countryside strolls. Our boots have been re-proofed (with Nikwax, of course), Darn Tough socks are snuggly on our feet, our Hydro Flasks have been filled, and our Osprey packs securely strapped to our backs… let’s get ready to ramble!

Abbie | Four Waterfalls Walk

My favourite walk to do is the Four Waterfalls walk in Ystradfellte, Wales. It’s just over five miles long and is broken up by views of the beautiful cascades of the Brecon Beacons. The path to Sgwd yr Eria has steps rivalling the Stairmaster, but it’s worth it to walk behind the fall at the end. Give yourself four-five hours to do this walk, and bring your LifeStraw to fill up from the Afon Hepste!

Jo | Castle Combe Walk

My favourite walk is through the outstanding natural beauty of Castle Combe in the Cotswolds, just 15 minutes drive away, with my partner Andy and our two adorable dogs Teddy (Spring’s Chief Tester) and Kimble.  Off the beaten track, away from the popular village attractions where blockbusters including War Horse and Dr Doolittle were filmed, we like to venture through lush green fields and paths swathed in wild garlic while our pooches play in the refreshing streams.  We embrace the chance to experience mindfulness amongst nature before heading to the White Horse pub in the quaint village for a hearty lunch.  We always return home feeling refreshed and ready for a power nap.

Naomi | Coln Saint Aldwyns & Bilbury Circular Walk

My favourite walk is the Coln Saint Aldwyns and Bibury Circular. It’s a 10.5 km gorgeous walk in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, passing through two very pretty villages. Starting in the quaint village of Coln Saint Aldwyns, the first half of the walk follows the River Coln to Bibury, I love that you’re next to water for so much of this walk (it’s also ideal when you have a swimming-obsessed spaniel with you!). You then pass through Bibury, where you’ll see the famous Arlington Row, before returning across higher fields with stunning, wide-open views. The walk is made even better with a stop at The Catherine Wheel pub halfway round!

Stephanie | Rame Head Walk

My favourite walk is Rame Head, in Cornwall. I’m from Plymouth and love the coast and this is one of my favourite walks.  In fact, it’s a family favourite.  It can be bracing in the winter and we’ve seen snakes here in the summer.  I tell you, walking this route never fails to disappoint.

Stephanie enjoying the view!

The countdown is now on for July 25th – National Cheese and Wine Day, another important celebratory day for us ;).
