This week we watched the inspiring ‘Pursuit of a memorable life’ TEDx talk by Dustin Garis, he shares his quest to find out the true meaning of life. It has left us feeling inspired to shake up our daily routines, try new experiences and save the day from blurring into the next one.
After travelling the world in search of an answer to how can we create a more memorable life, he finally found it in Russia – “life is not the number of days you live, it’s the number of days you remember.”
Dustin explains that there seems to be a huge gap between the number of days we live and the days we remember; did you know the average person only remembers three days in a month?
This is because most days follow the same pattern. Routine is immensely helpful, but Dustin talks about how adding new experiences (no matter how big or small) to our lives can engage our senses and help us be more present.

If you think back over the past month – what memories come to mind? Usually, it’s the ones where something out of the ordinary or special happened. Therefore, to live a more memorable life, we have to learn to break out of our routine and add new experiences to our day. It doesn’t matter if it’s as small as wearing a funky pair of socks or taking a different route to work – as long as it’s a new experience.

The Spring team is going to be putting what we’ve learned into action and will report back on how we do.
We’d love for you to also give it a go and let us know how you get on!
