The Yogamatters Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat is sustainable innovation at its best. Made by turning algae blooms into eco-foams for use in products – it’s a yoga mat that helps clean the environment.

The problem

Algae blooms pose a major problem for communities around the world causing eco-systems to become out of balance. They are caused by factors such as climate change, water pollution from agriculture, industry and society. Yogamatters’ partners at BLOOM have found an innovative way of helping the environment by turning algae blooms into eco-foams for use in products.

The solution

Yogamatters Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat, £60

During algae harvesting, the algae is separated from the water and the clean, filtered and oxygenated water is returned back into the environment – helping to restore the eco-system. Algae also absorbs and traps CO2 from the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis. When algae is harvested, the CO2 comes along with it, which means cleaner air too!

The upside

For every Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat made, 42 bottles of cleaned water are returned to the local habitat as well as 27 cubic metres of clean air.

Yogamatters Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat, £60

So, if you’re looking for an eco-friendly yoga mat, look no further. Made from a unique combination of EVA foam and algae from lakes and ponds, the Yogamatters Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat is doing more than your average mat, it’s helping to keep eco-systems in balance. Super cushioned at 5mm thick and weighing only 750 grams, the Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat is lightweight and portable, and with an eye-catching marbled design, it looks good too!

The Aqua Evolve Yoga Mat is free from toxic chemicals and dyes and can be easily wiped clean using the Yogamatters Yoga Mat Cleaner.
